This year The Knight honours Dylan Alcott, founder of the Dylan Alcott Foundation as our 2022 Australian Knight.
The Dylan Alcott Foundation was born from a desire to eliminate the barriers that young people with disabilities face when trying to get out and lead the life they dream of.
Dylan was born with a tumour wrapped around his spinal cord and, at a young age, struggled to come to terms with life as a paraplegic. Dylan found a lifeline through sport that changed his life forever.
Dylan is driven to provide this same lifeline, whatever shape it may take, to other children with disabilities throughout Australia.
The Dylan Alcott Foundation helps young people gain confidence and achieve big dreams through tangible means; purchasing expensive and much needed sporting equipment and providing scholarships at leading education institutions or mentoring programs with industry trailblazers.
The Knight has donated $10,000 to support the enriching and inspiring work that Dylan and the Dylan Alcott Foundation team perform for young Australians with disabilities.

What is the Australian Knight award?
Each year, staff at The Knight recognise a worthy recipient for our Australian Knight award; someone who has demonstrated qualities that personify those of a Knight, including bravery, selflessness and leadership.
The Knight donates $10,000 to the winner’s charity, or the charity of their choice.
