Giving babies the best start in life with St Kilda Mums.

Team volunteers to support local charity

On Monday 22 April 2024, members of The Knight team were proud to spend the day volunteering with St Kilda Mums to support the incredible work that they do.

St Kilda Mums receives requests from Maternal Child Health nurses and social workers on behalf of families in need, aiming to meet or exceed each request with quality new or pre-loved donations. The organisation gives to people who are facing a variety of challenges, hoping they feel uplifted and supported when they receive the donation.

The day was an eye-opening and inspiring experience. The St Kilda Mums warehouse is an impressive operation, receiving large volumes of donations daily, and expertly processing, cleaning and sorting all they receive to ensure everything a family is gifted is in ‘as-new’ condition and appropriate for their needs.

Our team worked hard on cleaning and preparing donations of car seats, prams, highchairs, clothing and toys ready to be rehomed. A far cry from our usual office days and site visits, we were left exhausted and amazed by the hard work of this volunteer team.

The Knight gives back.

Each year, our Wellbeing Committee organise a volunteering day to support a local charity. This is not only a way for us to give back as an organisation, but a key part of the Wellbeing program for our team: providing connection with the community and imbuing our roles with an even greater sense of purpose.

In the last few years, our team have volunteered with Backpacks 4 VIC Kids, FoodBank, EatUp Australia and St Kilda Mums.

Know of a charity that needs a helping hand? Feel free to share a suggestion to community@theknight.com.au – we love supporting causes that are close to the heart of our community.
