Every Australia Day, staff at The Knight recognise a worthy recipient(s), for our ‘Australian Knight’ award, who has demonstrated qualities that personify those of a Knight.
This year, we wish to acknowledge the Foundation for Australia’s Most Endangered Species (FAME) as our Australian of the Year, our Australian Knight.

FAME’s Bio
Their vision is to prevent the ongoing extinction of Australian species and so far FAME’s supporters have helped bring about more than 20 Australian species back from ‘the brink’. But with over 300 endangered species in Australia we face an uphill battle; a battle we cannot hope to win without the support of people like you.
How do they do it?
FAME believes that a partnership approach is the best way to saving wildlife. FAME works with like-minded organisations, wildlife authorities and private landowners on projects that increase the likelihood of the survival of one or more endangered
species.
But perhaps more importantly FAME connects people passionate about saving our ’disappearing Australians’ with the best people working in this field. They do this by raising funds and effectively directing those funds to where the need is the greatest.
