Changing of the Guard: Our new People & Culture Manager

Our announcement today is bittersweet, as we share news of the retirement of one of The Knight’s founding members, Joyce Evans, our People & Culture Manager.

Joyce has been with The Knight since inception, first providing support to founder Robert Evans in the days before we even had an office to call home. In 1998, when we moved into our Malvern location, Joyce made the decision to call time from her Manager role in an Aged Care facility and join the business full time.

In her 24-year tenure with us, Joyce has played an instrumental role in shaping and building The Knight. Solution driven by nature, Joyce was constantly improving operational systems, ensuring The Knight remained ahead of an ever-changing industry. Her success is evidenced by our growth from a 2-person-show to a team of 50-strong.

More recently, with her background in health & management, Joyce was integral in steering The Knight through the COVID-19 pandemic, responding quickly to ensure staff were protected, and systems were in place to support an almost-overnight shift to remote work.

We say this announcement is bittersweet as while we are sad to say goodbye to Joyce as a member of the team, we are excited for her to start her (already delayed) retirement and have some well-earned time for rest and relaxation.

Thank you Joyce for all that you have contributed to The Knight story, enjoy this next chapter of retirement.

It is with great excitement that we introduce Joyce’s replacement in the important role of People & Culture Manager, Taylor Whitefoot.

Taylor may be a familiar face to many, first joining The Knight in 2017 and working as both an Owners Corporation Manager and Assistant during her 5 year tenure.

Prior to entering the strata world Taylor had spent her career honing her customer service and management skills in the retail and beauty industries.

Taylor has always been an instigator of positive culture at The Knight, serving on our social committee over numerous years, and passionate about keeping staff connected, engaged and supported.

This appointment feels like an obvious progression for Taylor, who is a natural people-person, and we are excited to see the impact she will have as we enter this new era of The Knight.
